Juice Feasting: The Benefits of Juice Fasting

Submitted by Citibabes Blog on May 1, 2010 – 4:06 pm4 Comments

I like to think of juice fasting as juice feasting. When we juice, we take in fruits and vegetables in a highly absorbable form, which our bodies love. Below are five additional benefits:

1. Give digestion a rest.

Our digestive systems are over-worked. We eat too much and food gets retained in the body. By juicing, we allow the body the chance to release old matter.

2. Stir up toxicity for release.

When we drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices, old, trapped toxins are stirred up and are able to leave the body. When this happens, we feel energetic, clear, alive, and joyful.

3. Alkalize.

Being on the alkaline side of life creates little room for harmful bacteria, yeast, fungus, and mold to thrive in our bodies. An alkalized body is a radiant, healthy body.

4. Hydrate.

Most of us are internally dehydrated. Though not a replacement for water, juicing is a great way to hydrate.

5. Rejuvenate and create new eating patterns.

Juicing gives us a chance to renew our bodies and examine our eating choices and patterns, as well as the opportunity to shift towards a healthier lifestyle. Many people have illuminating realizations about food while juicing.
